Johnson Tsang is one of a rare breed: an artist who is not only dazzlingly technically accomplished, but one who understands that technique is only the means to an end. Which in his case is the telling of a story, be it a deeply personal narrative, an incisive commentary on social issues, or a perceptive iteration of life executed with wit and a master’s light touch.
Hailing from Hong Kong, the exhibition at K+ is Tsang’s first in Singapore, and presents works from his latest series. “Every adult has an inner child deep inside our soul. It is what keeps us curious, urges us to pursue happiness... and above all, gives us courage to embrace our truest selves,” says Tsang. “I hope the adult visitors will enjoy the exhibits with their child (or inner child). Some day, we will all be old enough to start acting like kids again.
