Add some kawaii to your daily life with the Polkaros range of crafty lifestyle goods. Distinctively Japanese in character and sensibility, you may be surprised to find that its founder is in fact a true-blue Singaporean.
From an early age, artist Ros Lee has been fascinated by art
and design. Her family ran a clay art business, and Ros grew up playing with clay and the potter’s wheel. After receiving a three-year scholarship to study art and design in Japan in 2004, Ros studied and worked in Tokyo for 10 years before deciding to return home recently.
Polkaros was born from Ros’ love of ceramics, textile and paper, combining her influences and training in Japanese traditional crafts with modern zakka* goods. Filled with personality, every item is lovingly handmade with careful attention to craft and detail.
Visit Polkaros at K+, Scotts Square #03-03.
*From the Japanese ‘zak-ka’（雑貨）or ‘many things’. The term refers to everything and anything that improves your home, life and appearance. Source: Wikipedia
