Fred & Bobo was born out of a desire to hunt and gather, purvey and create. What started out as a challenge to make and sell ten throw pillows using remnant fabric and a hand-me-down 1982 Singer to raise money for charity ended up sowing the seeds for the homewares brand that is Fred & Bobo today.
In consideration of the small spaces in most homes, Fred & Bobo chose to create throw pillows as they are versatile and an inexpensive way to inject personality and warmth into any room. All their throw pillows are handmade by local seamstresses. In an effort to reduce, reuse and recycle, some are made using vintage, out-of-print or end-of-bolt remnant fabric. They also explore unusual fabrics such as suiting fabric and corduroy, and traditional fabrics like Japanese furoshiki and Indonesian batik halus. In addition, Fred & Bobo offers a careful selection of homewares, thoughtfully designed and produced in limited quantities.
