Enter a dreamlike world, not unlike our own, conjured up by 14 young artists from the School of the Arts, Singapore (SOTA). Meet the fiercely adorable Komainu, explore transitional spaces with a knitted basketball hoop, and come face-to-face with the unfamiliar and uncanny in this exhibition produced by K+ and Scotts Square for the annual Art of Giving initiative, in which Scotts Square shows support for local emerging talent.
Taking inspiration from John Ruskin’s famous words on art education, K+ SOTA: Hand, Head & Heart presents a collection of highly crafted work that is deep in both thought and emotion. From traditional oil paintings, ceramic sculptures to mixed-media installations, these works are a testament to the students’ perseverance and grit in pursuing their various art disciplines.
For Art of Giving 2016, 50% of the proceeds from the sales of artworks will be donated to the HCA Hospice Care.
